25 things
1) I listen to radio 4 more than could be considered normal
2) I like reading books by people I disagree with on principle…
3) I have great difficulty identifying myself with a particular denomination… at the minute I’m feeling a bit pisky
4) There is no joy quite like quoting the west wing in context
5) Since I decided I’d be a terrible minister (see 3) I’ve never wanted to be anything else but a doctor… apart from when I want to be an author
6) I really like hugs
7) I have an almost pathological fear that I was named after the transvestite in ‘walk on the wild side’
8 ) On mondays when I was 18 I would go from school to church and stay there til 9pm… I used to eat dinner by myself in the youth room, put music on and wander around in my socks sliding on the floor
9) I read all 5 hitchy books at least once a year and listen to the original radio programme more than I should
10) I own 3 NIVs… I have no idea why and woud be prepared to give 2 away to a good home because one was a gift from family.
11) I drink ‘the fizzy elderflower juice thing’ everytime i go to the coffee shop near my house but don’t know what it’s called
12) I can’t knit… I’m glad this makes George feel better about herself… but she’s a terrible teacher
13) I love coffee, always have done… I blame it for my (lack of) height
14) I leave things everywhere- keys, wallet, ipod, pencil case, water bottle… I spend half my life retracing my steps.
15) I collect liturgy and prayers in a big folder on my computer and another big folder in a drawer… it made me happy when I found out i wasn’t the only one
16) I can sing ‘father god i wonder’ in hungarian
17) I’m more grateful for my weird friends every day

19) When I was 7 my dad made me learn to recite ‘if’ by kipling. If you start me off on a line i can usually finish it
20) I had a tall, thin cat called Garfield followed by a big fat one called Macavity who liked to eat Mallard ducks… I really want a cat but wouldn’t feel right about having it in a flat.
21) I once debated in the senate chamber of stormont… well, thay had to use it for something for all those years… and i still have the fake hansard somewhere…
22) My favourite author is Douglas Coupland… I think… but I prefer poetry…
23) I read the four canonical gospels in January for the second time since October. I wouldn’t suggest that you try it… mix it up a bit. (I’m only joking a little)
24) I love the end of the day when I turn on the radio and turn off my brain… unless i accidentally turn on 5live and Ricahrd Bacon is on.
25) Sometimes i disappear for a few hours- I turn off my phone, leave the house and hide. I have found this is the only way to preserve my sanity
